How I Met Radio 1190: |
Strolling through the subterranean undercrust of the UMC, I stumbled upon a mecca of sticker-covered walls and the sweet resonation of indie rock. My heart was aflutter with the sheer thought that there was a place, this safe haven of music, where I could be free from the lady lumps and lipgloss of the other radio stations. Never again have my eardrums been the same. And then I pretty much started volunteering and it became less glamorous. But it still kept the atmosphere of awesomeness intact. |

First Album Purchased:
|
Unfortunately, I had the gall to spend $18 on the Titanic soundtrack and only listened to the Celine Dion song. The rest of the album was just remixes of "My Heart Will Go On" and I frankly was more interested in my neighbor's copy of the Godzilla soundtrack to care |

First Concert: |
My best friend Liz got free tickets to the All That Music and More Festival at Fiddler's Green when I was in fourth grade. We waited around to see B*Witched, seeing as our affinity for Irish pop bands was quite strong at the time. We bought five dollar glow sticks and left when 98 Degrees came on stage. Looking back, I feel like that move was in our best interest. |

Favorite Concert: |
Paul Simon at Magness Arena. We had some of the worst seats in the house, but the sight of Mr. Simon's tiny stature flung into Power Stance made seating a moot point. He played all of his famous songs, which some might say lacked creativity on his part, but my ability to sing along to so well made me feel better about my mad memorization skills. A close second are the two concerts where I saw Taking Back Sunday, both of which eaturing front man Adam Lazzara hitting himself in the face with his microphone. |

Preferred Musical Styles &/or Artists |
I have a strange affinity for the banjo, so anything with an excess of twang hits the spot. Right now I'm loving alternate country, like Ryan Adams, Wilco, and Fionn Regan. I never get tired of the classics like Zeppelin, but I love strange and inventive music. Architecture In Helsinki, Gogol Bordello,The Softlightes, and Andrew Bird give me hope that innovations in music style can evolve past the same old pop song beat. |
Desired Reunion: |
If the resurrection of a dead musician can count as a reunion, I would vote for Nick Drake. They need to cast some spell and get that guy out of the grave. Otherwise, I'd have to vote for the cliché Zeppelin. I understand the hilbilly implications of this, but I'm just a little in love with Robert Plant. |

Recommended Media: |
Bookwise, anything by David Sedaris makes me laugh and anything by Chuck Klosterman makes me want to channel my cynicism into a constuctive and hilarious literary masterpiece. Moviewise, I love the weird stuff. On the subject of music and whatnot, the recent low-budget Once made my life. I laughed. I cried. I bought the soundtrack. The only TV I watch is The Office. I'm very strict about that. |

Recommended Websites: |
Besides the ones that everyone else knows, all I can think of is Neopets.com. It pretty much consumed my summer at the age of nine, and the fact that my sister and I would fight to the death for another ten minutes online to feed our weirdo animals and buy them cool stuff is a testament to the epic ability of this site. |

Anything else? |
I aspire to be able to play the banjo while doing the robot, and it has been decided that if another person exists in this wide world with my shared goal, we are meant to be together. Just throwing that out there. |
