We launched a new Local Shakedown monthly music series at the HI-DIVE called LOCAL TAKEOVER (formaly 'On Deck').

Each month we invite someone from the local community to take over the club and host the evening. Whoever hosts the night invites TWO LOCAL BANDS to play and then DJs the night! We will be inviting bands, labels, journalists, businesses and others from the local scene that wouldn't typically be running a night at a club. We want the LOCAL TAKEOVER to be a night put on by the local scene for the local scene!

The title about says it all. Every month the Local Shakedown partners up with our friends at Soda Jerk and puts on a great showcase of some of the best bands to be found in Colorado. We put all our bets on that funny phrase: "Why haven't I heard of these guys before?" Well, now there's no excuse! Plus, the sound at Rock Island is one of the very best in all of Denver. We wouldn't put these bands just anywhere!
